We are new here too!
High Point started as a wisp of a vision in 2019 when a few families began to pray for a church that would serve Fort Polk & the surrounding community. With compassion for the soldier and military family, these people envisioned a global network of churches near military bases that speak to the warrior lifestyle. HPC—Polk is the first installment of the Lord’s faithfulness to that dream.
HPC is an Evangelical Covenant Church (ECC)
The ECC is a multi-ethnic movement of nearly 900 congregations in the United States and Canada with ministries on five continents of the world. The ECC values the Bible as the word of God, the gift of God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ, the call to extend God’s love to a hurting world, and the strength that comes from unity within diversity. Pastor Darrick Gütting
Pastor Darrick started his 34-year military career as a Marine infantryman, then an Army Aviator and eventually an Army Chaplain. He gave his life to Christ as a teenager, but did his own thing as a young adult. During a difficult time, he re-committed his life to Christ and then God called him to the ministry. While studying for his Master of Divinity, he met and married Tonia. They have 3 grown children. From fishing and hunting in Alaska to diving off the coast of Honduras, from bow hunting to riding adventure motorcycle across the continent, Darrick loves all things outdoors.
